The Reverso 4 is a belay device from Petzl.
This belay device is a market benchmark and is designed for several different climbing disciplines: crag, multi-pitch routes, mountaineering.... It is very easy to use and is above all, very light. It also allows for a one to two second belay, or can be used to rappel.
Ultra versatile, the Reverso 4 is compatible with a large majority of rope diameters (see technical features).
The Reverso 4 is also very easy to use, letting the rope pass smoothly, which protects the rope from premature wear.
It is a true classic for different types of climbing.

Detailed description
Versatility and ease of use:
- classic belaying actions with both hands on the rope,
- smooth rope passing through the device,

- Reverso mode for belaying in one or two seconds
- independent and simultaneous two-second belay in Reverso mode,
- unlocking hole allowing you to give slack gradually with a simple carabiner when the device is in use
- installation diagram engraved on the device (for belay and reverse mode).
Suitable for all rope diameters:
- braking control, thanks to the V-shaped grooves,
- compatible with dynamic and simple ropes from 8.5 to 10.5 mm (11 mm possible depending on the flexibility of the rope),
- compatible with dynamic double ropes from 7.1 to 9.2 mm,
- compatible with twin dynamic ropes from 6.9 to 9.2 mm.
Durability and lightness:
- increased durability, thanks to the rounded design of the rope passage, limiting wear and tear of the device
- compact and ultra-light: only 57 g.
