Helmet Supra Jr (Ce) Cerulean Blue
MTB helmet – Children’s – S

Protecting your child's head when they're on their bike is essential, whether it's for their first rides on trails or sessions at the bike park. Snowleader has selected children's MTB helmets from Scott, designed to combine safety, comfort, and a love of riding.
Mountain biking is not without risks: falls on trails, low branches, rocks, or simply losing balance while learning-there are plenty of hazards for young riders. A kids' or junior MTB helmet differs from a city bike helmet with a more enveloping shell at the back of the head and over the temples, precisely where most off-road impacts occur. In our MTB helmet section, you'll find models designed for children's head shapes and the type of riding they do, from their first family e-MTB to more challenging mountain outings. Don't forget to complete their kit with suitable MTB protection (knee pads, elbow pads) for more demanding rides.
All helmets offered at Snowleader meet the European EN 1078 standard, certifying the helmet's ability to absorb impact according to strict testing protocols. Beyond this essential requirement, some technologies make a real difference in the event of an accident. The MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) has become a benchmark: it features a thin internal layer that moves a few millimetres during an angled impact, reducing rotational forces transmitted to the brain. This is exactly what the Supra Jr Mips model from Scott offers, available in our kids' section. Key safety features to check before buying include:
A child will only wear their helmet if it feels comfortable. That's why manufacturers pay as much attention to the inside as the outside of their junior models: removable, washable pads to wick away sweat, multiple vents on the top and sides for airflow on climbs, and an adjustment dial at the back for a precise fit in seconds. Weight also matters: a helmet under 300 grams helps prevent neck fatigue on longer rides, which is especially important for younger children whose neck muscles are still developing.
Measure the head circumference with a soft tape measure, placed about two centimetres above the eyebrows and passing over the most prominent part at the back of the head. Our range mainly covers children from around 5 years old, with two complementary size ranges:
Once the helmet is on, ask your child to shake their head: the helmet should stay perfectly stable, without slipping forward or tilting to the sides. The straps should form a V just below the ears, and the chin strap, once fastened, should allow only one finger under the chin. If your child is growing quickly, check the fit every six months: a helmet that's become too small loses some of its protective capacity.
The choice then depends on the terrain and the type of rides your child does. There are three main profiles:
In the kids' range, Scott covers the first two profiles effectively: the Jr Argo Plus is versatile for leisure and cross-country MTB, while the Supra Jr Mips brings the benefit of anti-rotation technology for more demanding rides. Don't overlook the look: a helmet chosen with your child, in colours and designs they like, will be worn without complaint. Bright colours like electric blue or pure white, understated matte black finishes, or fun patterns inspired by the pro MTB world often turn a helmet from a chore into a piece of kit your child is proud of. The Jr Argo Plus from Scott, available in five colours, is a great example, offering a wide aesthetic choice on a proven technical base.
There are three times you must replace it: after a significant impact, even if the helmet looks fine (the EPS foam only absorbs one impact and doesn't regain its properties), every 3 to 5 years with regular use as materials age from UV and sweat, and as soon as the head circumference exceeds the maximum size for the model. Regular visual checks of the straps, buckle, and inner pads help spot wear before it becomes a problem.
Maintenance is simple: a soft, slightly damp cloth and mild soap are enough to clean the shell. Avoid solvents and harsh cleaners as they can damage adhesives and weaken the in-mold shell-foam construction. Removable inner pads should be hand-washed in lukewarm water and air-dried away from direct heat. Also avoid leaving the helmet in a car boot in full sun or near a radiator: high temperatures degrade the EPS foam over time and reduce its shock absorption capacity.
