The Masselottes from PETZL are designed for mountaineering, ice climbing and dry tooling ice axes.
The Masselottes are positioned on either side of the pick.
When striking, the balance of the ice axe is improved for precise anchoring in hard ice. The geometry of the Masselottes optimises the jamming of the blade in cracks.
The weights are removable, to adjust the technical aspects and weight of the ice axe for the route.
