Technical ice climbing axe -
The Dark Machine Ice from Grivel is an ultralight technical ice axe designed for ice climbing, dry tooling, and technical mountaineering. Its optimized geometry promotes precise and repeatable movements, enabling effective placement and optimal control on demanding routes.
Its carbon composite shaft featuring the G-Bone profile offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, high rigidity, and vibration reduction during placements. The fully carbon handle helps limit weight while maintaining the necessary stiffness for dynamic movements. The grip range allows the hand to move between several positions to facilitate progression.
Thanks to the modular Vario system, its aluminium head allows replacement of blades and rear accessories to adapt the ice axe to terrain requirements. Its steel pick completes this design dedicated to technical performance. Made in Italy, the Dark Machine Ice is certified according to CE EN 13089 Type 2 and UIAA 152 standards.
