It features a beechwood shaft, sourced from French forests, which is hard and resistant, and has been varnished to provide better protection against moisture and dirt. SandvikIts thin yet sturdy blade Yatagan is made from modified 12C27 stainless steel , renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. The leather strap means you can take it with you wherever you go, clipped onto a belt loop or a backpack hook. ViroblocThis model is fitted with a dual safety system, allowing the blade to be locked in either the open or closed position.

Stainless steel Sandvik	The modified 12C27 stainless steel, Sandvik developed for Opinel , is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel that can undergo the heat treatment that gives it its hardness is known as martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving the blade sharpness and corrosion durability.
blade Yatagan	The traditional blade of theOpinel is known as Yatagan. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish sabre, with an upturned tip. The blade is ground to an exclusive convex profile, ensuring its strength and enabling effective re-sharpening.
Security ring Virobloc	Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the safety Virobloc ring is fitted to all folding knives from model No. 06 onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. This system allows the blade to be locked in the open position (for safe use) or the closed position (for safe transport).
