Piolets d'or

Piolets d'or is a book of Les Éditions du Mont-Blanc on modern mountaineering.

Since 1992, the world's most distinguished mountaineers have been awarded a Piolet d'Or. In this book, these remarkable heights of ascent are honoured in order to make discover the most beautiful mountains and thus inspire Man. These 100 mountaineers from all over the world present 60 walls and peaks.

A true history of "great modern mountaineering". Since 2009, a Piolet d'or carrière has also been awarded to some of the great names in mountaineering, such as Walter Bonatti, Reinhold Messner, Robert Paragot, Doug Scott, etc.
