Climbing rope - Guide Assist Pro Dry 8mm - Edelrid
The Guide Assist Pro Dry 8mm from Edelrid is a dynamic safety reserve rope for confident progress or for securing a second climber on exposed passages and glacier crossings.
This model features the Pro Dry treatment, which makes it resistant to water and impurities. In addition, it has the UIAA standard which allows for a rope that absorbs less than 2% water.
This rope has also undergone the Thermo Shield treatment, which relaxes and then tightens the fibres to ensure the flexibility of your rope. The 3D Lap Coil technology will prevent you from having problems with twisting, and will make it easier for you to handle your rope. Finally, it has the bluesign® standard which makes it much less polluting while guaranteeing excellent resistance to water and mud.
Caution: Do not use as a single rope or for belaying a lead climbing.

Technologies:
- Thermo Shield Treatment his is the basic treatment that is applied to all the brand's ropes to ensure they have the renowned EDELRID suppleness. The treatment involves a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. A special heat treatment relaxes and then shrinks the rope fibres. This harmonises the gliding characteristics of the yarns inside the rope, making it supple and compact. The result is the creation of strings that will not shrink in retrospect nor stiffen quickly.
- 3D Lap Coil: No uncoiling is necessary when you first use the rope The ropes are coiled.
- Bluesign® : The bluesign® PRODUCT label is a quality label. It guarantees a manufactured product that is ecological, low-polluting and safe for health and the environment. In this way, we have responded to the natural demands of our customers for safe, environmentally friendly and sustainable products.
- Pro Dry: This treatment consists first of all of waterproofing the core wires. After braiding, the finished rope (core and sheath) is waterproofed again. Then the waterproofing is thermally fixed. The Dry Pro treatment ensures that the rope is resistant to water and dirt. The ropes dry extremely quickly, they hardly increase in weight when wet and they are less likely to freeze in cold weather. With a reduced water absorption of 1-2% according to the UIAA Water Repellent test, Pro Dry ropes offer almost equivalent performance in wet conditions and therefore a high level of safety, even in wet conditions.
