Couteau Tradition Baroudeur Classique T8
The most popular format for 130 years, the Opinel T8 Classic Baroudeur Tradition Knife is useful for all day-to-day manual tasks, when camping or during your outdoor activities. It fits in every pocket and accompanies you on all your adventures.
The handle is made from hard, resistant beechwoodfrom French farms, varnished to protect it from damp and dirt. Its slim, robust Yatagan blade is made from Sandvik's modified 12C27 stainless steel , renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance.
The leather strap means you can take it anywhere, hanging from a belt loop or rucksack hook.
This model is fitted with the Virobloc double safety system, which locks the blade in the open or closed position.
These assets offer excellent cutting quality, high resistance to corrosion and safety in use.

Sandvik stainless steel |
The modified Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment that gives it its hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40%, giving the blade sharpness and corrosion resistance. |

Yatagan blade |
The traditional Opinel blade is known as the Yatagan blade. Its shape is inspired by a Turkish sabre, with a raised tip. The blade is ground to an exclusive cambered profile that guarantees its robustness and enables high-performance resharpening. |

Virobloc safety ring |
Invented in 1955 by Marcel Opinel, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted to all closing knives from N°06 upwards. Cut from stainless steel, Virobloc consists of two parts: a fixed part and a sliding part. This system locks the blade in the open position (for safe use) or the closed position (for safe transport). |
