Ski touring poles

Help along your ascent with some lightweight alpine ski touring poles. These will help you retain good posture and balance, as well as making your progress quicker and easier.

Choosing your AT ski poles

Bend your elbow to a right angle in front of you, then measure the height between the ground and your hand in this position – this is the height your ski poles should be. Some prefer them to be a little bit higher – it’s just a matter of preference, but for ski touring, your arm shouldn’t be sloping downwards while holding the pole – a shorter pole will give you less blanance while skinning.

There are also different features to consider : do you want your poles to fold down when not in use ? Do you want an adjustable pole ? Lightweight, durable carbon or afforadable aluminium ?

Snowleader has a huge choice of poles with a whole variety of features and colours from Black Diamond, Salomon, K2 and more.
