The renowned Scarpa boot is back this year with all of the same benefits: light weight, range of motion and skiability.
The Maestrale is the little sister of the Maestrale RS. Featuring the same technologies as the RS version (with the exception of carbon), it is simply more flexible and less exclusive. It is designed for ski tourers who are looking for comfort and versatility without compromising on high performance. This boot is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers who want a boot that is well suited to both uphill and downhill skiing.
The Maestrale consists of an integral Pebax shell for a lightweight boot that offers very good skiability. Its construction is lightweight, as it uses less material in places where it is not necessary. Breathability is essential for keeping feet dry and has always been a challenge in ski boots. The ski/walk mode is really easy to use and allows for 60° of total lean (46° at the back, 14° at the front), meaning you can move very smoothly.
In terms of comfort and fit, the Intuition Cross Fit Pro features a high quality liner, a reinforced tongue, an elaborate rear flex and slippery Lycra at the top back of the boot, making it easier to slip on and off.
The Vibram Cayman Pro Sole offers excellent durability and good grip for walking without wearing skis.
The Finger Strap, like Thor Buckles, are much easier to use than traditional buckles and straps, meaning you no longer have to remove your gloves in the coldest conditions. The Maestrale is a very practical and lightweight boot!
The new feature on this year's model is the integrated Recco Technology for increased mountain safety. Recco technology increases your chances of being found in time in the event of an avalanche.
The Scarpa Maestrale has Low Tech inserts on the toe caps for use with the lightest ski touring bindings, but is also compatible with the ISO 9523 standard.
