Description

The Wayback 96 is a men's touring ski from K2.

The Wayback range offers excellent downhill performance, great grip and impressive stability in all snow conditions. This range has also been fitted with Snowphobichydrophobic topsheets. These prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, which results in weighing your ski down. Ingenious! The Skin Grommets skin attachment system is very easy to use and ultra-reliable.

Thanks to the Titanal Touring Technology, a construction combining a Paulownia Tour Lite wood core, cherry-picked for its lightweight properties and its lively performance, and two layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcements. To top it all off, a Titanal plate mainly placed around the centre of the ski, offers exceptional stability without weighing the ski down.

The Wayback 96, with its 96mm waist, is the second widest in the range. Despite an assumed love for downhill skiing, where the ski has no trouble thawing fresh snow, facing steep slopes, crossing difficult types of snow, and carving on packed snow thanks to its very alpine character, the Wayback 96 is also certainly not afraid of uphill climbs! With its very reasonable weight, you can envisage long day trips and more without hesitation. To tell you the truth, this Wayback 96 is the most versatile of the range.

Simply put, this Wayback 96 is a touring / freerando ski for experienced to expert skiers. Very light, it will accompany you on long day trips without any worries, and will allow you to fully enjoy the descent, thanks to performances worthy of a real freeride ski.

Team review

The most versatile in the Wayback range, without a doubt. Still lighter than previous versions, the Wayback 96 has also gained in stability and dynamism thanks to its new construction incorporating a light titanium plate. The gaining altitude can be made without too much trouble and the ski expresses itself even better as soon as you switch on the downhill mode. On the piste, it carves like a piste ski, with good returns thanks to a heel with a very alpine character. In complicated snow conditions, the Wayback 96 excels and avoids getting your socks rattled at the slightest vibration. With its 96mm skate and a fairly large spatula, the ski floats well in powder.

Advantages: Weight, torsional rigidity offering stability and grip in all snow conditions, alpine character

Disadvantages:
We loved the previous version, this one is even better, the only negative point is that you risk giving up all your other activities during the winter
