The Wayback 88 is a men's touring ski from K2.
The Wayback range offers excellent downhill performance, great grip and impressive stability in all snow conditions. This range has also been fitted with Snowphobic hydrophobic topsheets. These prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, which results in weighing your ski down. Ingenious! The Skin Grommets skin attachment system is very easy to use and ultra-reliable.
Thanks to the Titanal Touring Technology, a construction combining a Paulownia Tour Lite wood core, cherry-picked for its lightweight properties and its lively performance, and two layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcements. To top it all off, a Titanal plate mainly placed around the centre of the ski, offers exceptional stability without weighing the ski down.
The Wayback with its 88mm middle, is the intermediate ski in the range. It is the ski that goes down as well as up, and goes up as well as down... Uh... that's the effect that has made this ski become a must-have over the years. With intermediate dimensions and a very limited weight, going up and down on long day trips, or over several days will be easy. As well as its ease when climbing, the ski is also very able when in downhill mode. It is very manageable, and slaloming between the trees of a forest full of powder is its favourite hobby. The Wayback 88's impressive agility will get you out of dangerous situations in the couloir. The Wayback is also an example in terms of grip on packed snow, thanks to its alpine tail which lets it carve perfectly. Best seller and we know why! A best-seller and we know why!
In short, the Wayback 88 is a touring ski for experienced skiers. Very light, it will accompany you on all your adventures, no matter the difference in altitude, and will let you send from the peak to the car park.

This reference on the ski touring market is evolving and becoming even lighter, while increasing its downhill performance. What can we say about this ski which will suit most, from the intermediate to the expert who wants maximum versatility. Ultra efficient uphill thanks to a very inticing weight and an adapted profile, it exceeds our expectations on the descent with a great stability, a grip worthy of an alpine ski on piste and the presence of the heel, useful on hard snow and on narrow pistes.
Titanal and carbon do their job very well and even difficult snows will not make him doubt it.
Advantages: Weight, torsional rigidity offering stability and grip in all snow conditions, agility, alpine character
Negatives: We loved the previous version, this one is even better, the only negative point is that you risk giving up all your other activities during the winter
