The Ruler Step On® is a revisited version of the Ruler, the all-mountain boot that has proven its worth as a versatile boot, thanks to its top-of-the-range features and performance. Versatility, safety and comfort are the foundations upon which Burton has created the trustworthy Ruler Step On® boots.
The main difference between strapped and Step On® bindings is that it is the boot which determines which binding/boot pack to get, and no longer the binding. Thanks to its medium flex (6/10) and Lock-Up Cuff heel support system, the Ruler Step On® provides perfect foot support, for great tricks at the snow park and on-piste carving turns. More flexible than the Photon Step On®, the Ruler Step On® is made for riders with a more relaxed style.
The point of the Step On® system is that you can put your bindings on whilst standing. Simply step onto the baseplate and the connection points on the sides of your feet and on the spoiler will match up. No need to sit in the cold, wet, snow to put on your snowboard, and no one will complain about having to wait for you at the ski lifts!
The major advantage of this new system is the responsiveness of the boot-to-board power transfer. Because of the connection points, particularly the hi-back, the boots are literally stuck down from the high-back to the baseplate so shifts from edge to edge have never been so fast.

Lacing:
Boa® Coiler™ closure system: these Burton New England Rope laces are practically indestructible and guaranteed for life. The Coiler reel is a quick and effective system to adjust laces easily. Laces made from natural fibres to increase comfort and ensure more natural flex.
Comfort:
Total Comfort Construction: Best possible feel from the very first use. The Total Comfort design leaves out the process of molding the foot to the liner, and instead it directly adapts to your body and foot shape.
Snow proof internal gusset: the lower zone of the boot is completely sealed off from the snow, keeping feet warm and dry all day.
Shrinkage™ Footprint Reduction Technology: reduces the overall footprint of the boot in full size (it is made shorter, lighter and more elegant).
Outsole
Step On® EST® outsole: outsole developed to even better adapt to the EST bindings so that connection and information transfer is quicker.
