The Reckoner 122 is a backcountry freestyle ski from K2.
The Reckoner range is a backcountry freestyle ski range. Basically, very playful skis, wide, with big rockers and a relatively symmetrical design to send big tricks in powder.
With its 122mm width at the waist and its very pronounced rocker at the tip and tail, the Reckoner 122 is made to send it in freshly fallen snow. In deep snow, you will float as if on little clouds. The Carbon Boost adds pop and the Twintech technology adds strength to keep these beautiful toys from getting damaged. The Spectral Braid, which is a fibre reinforcement, provides stability and precision in the control and handling of the ski.
These monster skis are not to be placed in just any hands. They are best suited to an experienced skier and will know every corner of your favourite resort.
The Reckoner 122 is therefore made for big powder days and for sending the craziest airtricks.

Sidecut: 144- 122- 136, radius 23.7 m for the 184 cm model
POWDER TWIN ROCKER - high and long lift in both tip and tail for maximum flotation in deep snow.
Double Barrel Core - Fir/Aspen:
The outer parts of the core are made of pine wood to increase the durability of the edges, while the central part of the core is made of poplar for more lightness and easier rotation.
Construction:
CARBON BOOST: Longitudinal carbon edge on the core for more pop and bounce.
TWINTECH: Durable and comprehensive sidewall construction offering exceptional performance with resistance to impact damage.
SPECTRAL BRAID: Spectral Braid is a fibre reinforcement that allows precision twisting and bending by changing the orientation of the fibres along the ski. Skis with K2's Spectral Braid have stability and control while remaining extremely manoeuvrable.
The Reckoner 122 is reserved for skiers who send it hard in the powder. It is a pure backcountry ski and the enjoyment is not comparable between a downhill and an off-piste run with this ski.
Granted, not much can be said on fresh snow. We would like to ski every day with the Reckoner but the conditions have to be right because once on the piste you may feel a bit limited. The huge rocker and the dimensions of the ski mean that the contact surface on hard snow is not optimal. It can go everywhere but the ratios of powder-fun to track-fun is a little disappointing.
This ski is magical if you want to have fun in fresh knee deep snow, but is limited for groomed slopes and hard snow.
Advantages: A treat in powder, playful, stable
Disadvantages: Limited in hard snow, reserved for average sizes ++
