Description

The Poacher from K2 is a Freestyle - All Mountain ski for men part of the Factory Teamrange.

Developed by Clayton Vila and Sean Jordan, the Poacher is the most versatile ski in the Factory Team (Freestyle / Backcountry) range

The Poacher is a ski that has no limits, reassuring and efficient whether you are on the street, in the park or anywhere on the domain, even when you stray from the beaten track. Solidly constructed using the same Double Barrel core as the Reckoner, with pine on the edges for durability and a poplar core in the centre for easy rotation and to reduce the weight. It won't let you down even on heavy landings! The Twintech Sidewall also offers great resistance to impact, on rails for example.

With its 96 mm waist, the Poacher is not afraid of speed, adheres well to undulations in the terrain and remains solid whatever the conditions on its journey. The All Terrain Rocker gives the Twin Tip more playfulness, versatility and handling. The Carbon Boost Braid, woven carbon fibre at strategic places on the ski gives it the extra pop that is needed in freestyle and also adds dynamism and stability on packed slopes and in challenging snow.

Simply put, the Poacher is a complete ski for those who want a pair capable of everything from freestyle in the park, to freeride, to carving and cruising on the piste. A real chameleon!

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker:
Increases manoeuvrability and lift in all conditions

Construction :

Double Barrel Core - Fir/Aspen:
The outer sections of the core are made from pine to enhance the durability of the edges, while the central part of the core is made from poplar for a more lightweight design and ease of rotation.

TwinTech Sidewalls
This construction improves the lifespan of the sidewalls. The TwinTech construction tends to resolve the problem of topsheet wear and, by integrating it into the sidewall, reduces the grip angle on this sensitive area.

Triaxial fiber:
This is what makes the core of the K2 skis so unique. Developed in 1988 by the K2 engineers, the (patented) triaxial braided fibreglass is woven around a laminated core. This enables optimal torsional strength to be obtained, while conserving a dynamic flex distribution thanks to the wood core.

Carbon Boost Braid :
Longitudinal carbon fibre inserted into the triaxial fibre to add pop and bounce.

Sintered base:
Denser ski sole which will allow a better glide and also a better resistance.

Technologies :

Triaxial Braided Core:
Triaxial braiding involves feeding a prepared wood core into the Triaxial Braiding machine, which interlocks strands of fibreglass around it to enhance the ski's torsional stiffness and increase control.

Tip/Tail Rivets:
Metal rivets to add durability.

Team review

The Poacher is a ski true to the brand's DNA, fun and versatile. It is comfortable anywhere and does wonders in the park. The skis grip rather well on hard snow with their solid waist. In powder snow, the presence of theAll Terrain Rockermakes it easy to jump for fun, as long as it's not too deep.
In Freestyle, balance and pop are excellent thanks to a well-balanced flex and playful extremities.

The advantages : performance, precision, quality, versatility

Disadvantages: none
