The Gea are women's ski touring boots from Scarpa.
The renowned
The Gea is the little brother of the Gea RS. Featuring the same technologies as the RS version (with the exception of carbon), it is simply more flexible and less exclusive. It is designed for ski tourers who are looking for comfort and versatility without compromising on high performance. This boot is ideal for intermediate to advanced skiers who want a boot that is well suited to both uphill and downhill skiing.
The Gea consists of an integral Pebax shell for a lightweight boot that offers very good skiability. Its construction saves weight, as less material has been used in places where it is not necessary. To keep feet dry, breathability is essential and this has always been a challenge in ski boots.
This year, the Gea benefits from the new Speed Lock XT release system which allows 60° of cuff rotation (46° backwards, 14° forwards) for a very fluid ride.
The Intuition Cross Fit Pro liner is high quality in terms of comfort and fit, with a reinforced tongue density, a worked rear flex and a slippery lycra on the top of the back of the liner to make it easier to put on.
The Vibram Cayman Pro Sole provides excellent durability and grip for when you've got your skis on your backpack.
The Finger Strap, as well as the Thor Buckle, are much easier to handle than conventional buckles and straps so you don't have to take your gloves off in the coldest conditions. Practical... and less heavy!
New on this year's model is the Recco technology integrated into the shoe for even greater safety in the mountains. Recco technology increases your chances of being found in time in the event of an avalanche.
The Scarpa Gea has Low Tech inserts on the toe caps for use with the lightest ski touring bindings, but is also compatible with the ISO 9523 standard.
Finally Scarpa wanted to offer you a shoe that performs well while respecting the ECO label, which means that it has been constructed from renewable resources.
