Description

The Freequencer 2026 is a splitboard deck from the brand Amplid, designed for intermediate to experienced riders.

The Freequencer has the same shape as the Milligram, the benchmark splitboard from Amplid. We can therefore safely say that she has a lot of potential.

Its shape, camber and the technologies incorporated make it a highly versatile board, perfect for having a blast on narrow trails through the pine trees, in vast fields of fresh snow, or even on small kickers—whether natural or man-made.

The profile, Cruise Camber with its long camber and short front rocker, provides good adhesion on the ascent and makes it easy to take-off on powder snow descents. If you ascend near the slopes, you’ll also be able to string together carved turns on the descent, thanks to the long effective edge of the Directional shape.

For optimum comfort during use, the Freequencer is fitted with a lightweight, durable Omni Core core, shock-absorbing pads under the bindings to absorb impacts and vibrations, and tips Floation Tips, which ensure maximum lift in Powder snow.

Like all splitboards Amplid, the Freequencer comes pre-fitted with the Amplid Hooks. These small parts securely fasten the two halves of the splitboard together for improved performance on the slopes.

Shape :

- Tapered Directional : A classic shape with a nose longer than the tail, designed to provide lift in ungroomed snow. A 'tapered' shape is one where the nose is wider than the tail, making it easier to enter and exit curves. Guaranteed stability at high speeds and improved floatation.

- Cruise Camber : The regular camber underfoot, combined with the nose rocker, makes the board even more responsive in Powder snow and gives it the ability to handle any terrain.

- All-terrain Tips : Slightly wider tips that increase lift without compromising the board’s responsiveness.

Construction and technology:

Core Omni Core	A reliable wooden core made from low-density poplar wood, which is lightweight, durable and has excellent flex memory. The industry standard for high performance.
Pre-cured Impact Plates	Reinforcement of the core around the insert binding to minimise the impact caused by the bindings.
Extruded 4 base	A molded sole that offers excellent glide and rarely needs waxing.
Biax Glass	A double layer of fibreglass applied in two directions for a responsive yet forgiving board.
Scratch Resistant	Topsheet highly durable and resistant to impacts from edges and Poles.
Splitboard Tune	The edges are slightly rounded at the ends to make it easier to fit and remove the skins.
Bolted Tip Clips	Use screws instead of rivets. Easy to replace if it breaks.
Customs Clips	The forged aluminium board hooks, designed internally by the R&DAmplidteam, provide a reliable yet lightweight connection between the board halves and feature a matt black finish.
Amplid Hooks	Lightweight forged aluminium hooks that ensure a secure connection between the two halves of the splitboard.

Team review

La Freequencer est le nouveau modèle de splitboard de chez Amplid. Ils ont voulu avec ce modèle toucher un panel plus large de splitboarders, tout en conservant un split performant en montée comme en descente.

Pour cela, ils se sont inspirés de leur meilleure board : la Milligram. Cette inspiration est très présente et agréable, car on monte tout de suite sur une planche qui en a sous la semelle et qui se prends rapidement en main. Elle est idéale comme premier board à acheter après avoir passé plusieurs saisons à louer votre matériel.
