Description

The ZX100 is a freeride ski from Kästle.

The ZX100 is a new model in Kästle's freeride ski range. Inspired by new freeride practices the ZX100 comes with a more playful and less strict personality than its compatriots in the FX range. It is intended for skiers looking for a versatile freeride ski.

To achieve this, Kästle has used the beech and poplar core that is present throughout its FX range. The difference is in the core reinforcements with fibreglass on both sides of the core allowing a tolerant flex and good cushioning in hard or choppy snow.

The ski has a double rocker with a front tip equipped with Hollowtech 2.0 technology, which makes it lighter in strategic areas by removing unnecessary layers, while providing even better shock absorption. The rendering is incredible and it will be difficult to fault the ski, even in complicated snow.

Downhill, its top-of-the-range construction gives it all its character and the performance is unbeatable: Its 100 mm waist and low camber help to maintain good bearing capacity when in fresh snow, as well as exceptional pivoting qualities.

The ZX100 will be the ideal ski for all freeriders who want a powder ski with pop to send it in freeride whether in big powder or with more agility in fresh snow.

- Shape: Low Camber
- Core: Beech and poplar wood core with glass fibre inserts
- Base: Sintered UHM graphite base
- Construction: SEMI-CAP Sandwich: The Sandwich-Sidewall racing construction gives the ski enormous torsional stiffness and optimal flex for better control and power transfer.
- Core structure: WOODCORE: Each Kästle ski is made with the finest wood core, manufactured with precision to one tenth of a millimetre. This allows the brand to control the weight, responsiveness and cushioning characteristics of the ski, resulting in a high-quality, durable product. The wood type, or combination of different woods, is individually catered to each model line, based on the ski‘s intended use.

Technology:

- Hollowtech 2.0: The brand's patented key technology is unique to ski manufacturing. Removing unneeded layers at the front of the ski makes it more stable, edge-grip is more powerful and the overall weight is reduced. The size of each Hollowtech is adapted to individual model lines.
- Elliptical Radius: The shape of the Elliptical Radius determines how quickly and aggressively the ski turns. - Progressive Rise: progress Rise technology allows for tip optimisation for better float control off piste.
- Low Camber: A low-profile camber for better turning.
- Hook Free Shovel : Longer tip often associated with progressive lift. The point of contact with the snow is moved towards the centre of the ski, ensuring a more forgiving and manoeuvrable performance.
- Hook Free Tail: the tail is longer, which causes the ski-snow contact to move towards the centre of the ski, resulting in a more forgiving and playful turn exit.

Team review
