The Wayback 96 is a men's freeride ski by K2.
The Wayback Collection: the Wayback range has been completely updated. It obviously retains the features that made it successful in previous years, that is to say, its excellent performance during descents, a grip that is worthy of its name and impressive stability on all types of snow. K2 has opted to develop the range with a more modern construction. After several years of reflection and tests conducted by renowned guides and athletes worldwide, the new Wayback models have a considerably reduced weight in comparison to the previous versions. This has been made possible thanks to the new Titanal Touring Technology, a construction combining a Paulownia Tour Lite wood core, cherry-picked for its lightweight properties and its lively performance, and two layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcements. To top it all off, a Titanal plate, mainly placed around the centre of the ski, offers exceptional stability without weighing the ski down.
This range has also been fitted with Snowphobic hydrophobic topsheets. These prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, which results in weighing your ski down. Ingenious! As regards the Skin Grommets skin fastening system, this is very easy to use and ultra-reliable.
Warning: these touring skis are such all-round performers, you'll likely consign all your other skis to the back of the closet!
Wayback 96: The Wayback 96, with its 96mm waist, is the second widest in the range. Despite an assumed love for downhill skiing, where the ski has no trouble thawing fresh snow, facing steep slopes, crossing difficult types of snow, and carving on packed snow thanks to its very alpine character, the Wayback 96 is also certainly not afraid of uphill climbs! With its very reasonable weight, you can envisage long day trips and more without hesitation. To tell you the truth, this Wayback 96 is the most versatile of the range.
In short, this Wayback 96 is a touring / freerando ski for experienced to expert skiers. Very light, it will accompany you on long day trips without any worries, and will allow you to fully enjoy the descent, thanks to performances worthy of a real freeride ski.

This ski is the most versatile of the Wayback range, without a doubt. Even lighter than previous versions, the Wayback 96 has increased stability and dynamism thanks to its new construction which incorporates a lightweight titanal plate. Changes in altitude are smooth and the ski is even better on the descent. It carves like a downhill ski on the slopes, with a good kick exiting turns thanks to the very alpine character of the tail. In complicated snow conditions, the Wayback 96 excels and absorbs impacts well. With its 96mm waist and a fairly wide tip, the ski floats well in powder
Assets: Weight, torsional stiffness for stability and grip in all types of snow, alpine character
Downsides: We already loved the previous version and this one is even better, the only negative is that you may give up all your other activities over the winter.
