The Wayback 88 is a men's freeride ski by K2.
The Wayback Collection: the Wayback range has been completely updated. It obviously retains the features that made it successful in previous years, that is to say, its excellent performance during descents, a grip that is worthy of its name and impressive stability on all types of snow. K2 has opted to develop the range with a more modern construction. After several years of reflection and tests conducted by renowned guides and athletes worldwide, the new Wayback models have a considerably reduced weight in comparison to the previous versions. This has been made possible thanks to the new Titanal Touring Technology, a construction combining a Paulownia Tour Lite wood core, cherry-picked for its lightweight properties and its lively performance, and two layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass reinforcements. To top it all off, a Titanal plate, mainly placed around the centre of the ski, offers exceptional stability without weighing the ski down.
This range has also been fitted with Snowphobic hydrophobic topsheets. These prevent snow from sticking to the top of your skis, which results in weighing your ski down. Ingenious! As regards the Skin Grommets skin fastening system, this is very easy to use and ultra-reliable.
Warning: these touring skis are such all-round performers, you'll likely consign all your other skis to the back of the closet!
Wayback 88: The Wayback 88, with its 88mm waist, is the intermediate ski in the range. It is the ski that goes down as well as up, and goes up as well as down... Uh... that's the effect that has made this ski become a must-have over the years. With intermediate dimensions and a very limited weight, going up and down on long day trips, or over several days will be easy. As well as its ease when climbing, the ski is also very able when in downhill mode. It is very manageable, and slaloming between the trees of a forest full of powder is its favourite hobby. The Wayback 88's impressive agility will get you out of dangerous situations in the couloir. The Wayback is also an example in terms of grip on packed snow, thanks to its alpine tail which lets it carve perfectly. Best seller and we know why!
In short, this Wayback 88 is a perfect touring ski for experienced skiers. Very light, it will accompany you on all your adventures, no matter the difference in altitude, and will let you send from the peak to the car park.

This is a benchmark ski on the ski touring market. It is evolving and becoming even lighter, while at the same time increasing its downhill performance. What is there to say about the ski that will suit all intermediate to expert ski tourers who want maximum versatility. Ultra effective on slopes thanks to its very attractive weight and adapted profile, it exceeds our expectations on the descent with a high degree of stability, a grip on piste worthy of an alpine ski and the presence of a tail that is useful on hard snow and in couloirs.
The titanal and carbon are very effective, even in difficult snow conditions.
Assets: Weight, torsional stiffness for stability and grip in all types of snow, agility, alpine character
Downsides: We already loved the previous version and this one is even better, the only negative point is that you may give up all your other activities over the winter.
