This new Airbag 3.0 system is not campatible with previous generation airbags.
Mammut's Airbag 3.0 bags aren't compatible with Airbag 1.0 and 2.0 systems.

With a weight of approximately 1kg, this new Airbag system developed by Mammut enables you to use lighter bags that are more comfortable both on the ascent and descent. Comfort has been improved with this new lighter, more compact system. The thinner carry straps are pretty much like the standard straps on a ski bag which means you will no longer be encumbered by thick straps. The Airbag 3.0 system is detachable which makes its bag more versatile as you can remove the system when you don't need the airbag. Mammut airbags were developed for use in the most extreme situations, chiefly for use in temperatures from -30 ° to + 50 °.

The new Airbag 3.0's inflation system has been improved, mainly with an air booster system which is coupled with the inflation system for faster and more effective inflation without adding extra bulk.
The handle has also been redesigned to be more intuitive, more compact and more adjustable in length.

The airbag has a volume of 150 litres when inflated. It is made of very durable materials (ripstop nylon) and builds on technology developed by the automotive industry for a robust, lightweight and compact airbag.
