Description

The TX103 is a model of touring skis for men from Kästle.

The TX103 is the widest model in the TX range, giving it incredible lift on powder days and excellent ability to fly over difficult snow, without being a heavyweight, weighing in at around 1.5kg depending on size.

To achieve this, Kästle has developed a paulownia core for lightness and a poplar core for balance. The construction is a semi-cap construction with tri-axial fibre glass reinforcements on both sides of the core as well as another layer of carbon fibre The ski has a double rocker with a front tip equipped with Hollowtech 3.0 technology, which makes it lighter in strategic areas by removing unnecessary layers, while providing even better shock absorption. The rendering is incredible and it will be difficult to fault the ski, even in complicated snow. What's more, this model has a phosphorescent material on the spatula for improved visibility in the dark.

Downhill, its top-of-the-range construction gives it all its character and the performance is unbeatable: Its 103 mm skid and low camber ensure good fresh lift and exceptional pivoting qualities. Your equipment will no longer hold you back when hiking.

The TX103 will be the ideal ski for all freeriders who don't want to lose the pleasure of skiing by switching to touring with equipment that is only good for climbing. Climbing quickly is not a problem, but when it comes to the rebirth, we can already see the broad smile on your face.

Core : Lightweight paulownia and poplar wood core
- Base : Sintered UHM graphite base

Construction:
- SEMI- CAP Sandwich: The Semicap Sandwich construction gives the ski enormous torsional rigidity and optimum flex for better control and power transfer.

Core structure:
- WOODCORE: Each Kästle ski is made with the finest wood core, manufactured with precision to one tenth of a millimetre. This allows the brand to control the weight, responsiveness and cushioning characteristics of the ski, resulting in a high-quality, durable product. The wood type, or combination of different woods, is individually catered to each model line, based on the ski‘s intended use.

Technologies:
Hollowtech 3.0: The brand's patented key technology is unique to ski manufacturing. Removing unneeded layers at the front of the ski makes it more stable, edge-grip is more powerful and the overall weight is reduced. The size of each Hollowtech is adapted to individual model lines. The new version 3.0 offers an even lighter tip with carbon and less material for an even better effect.

- Use of phosphorescent materials in tip to ensure better visibility in the dark

- Elliptical Radius: The shape of the Elliptical Radius determines how quickly and aggressively the ski turns.

- Progressive Rise: The technology Progressive rise

allows for tip optimisation for better float control off-piste.

- Low: A low-profile camber for better turning.

- Hook Free Shovel: Longer tip often associated with progressive lift. The point of contact with the snow is moved towards the centre of the ski, ensuring a more forgiving and manoeuvrable performance.

- Hook Free Tail: Longer heel, which shifts the ski-to-snow contact towards the centre of the ski, resulting in a more forgiving and playful exit from bends.

Team review
