Description

The Prodigy 2 YTH 2023 is a ski from Faction, designed for freestyle all-mountain use and intended for intermediate to advanced skiers.

The skis in the Prodigy range are designed for all-mountain use, but with certain freestyle or freeride specificities depending on the model. All Prodigy models are built in the same way with the same technologies. They have a Twin Directional shape with two rockers at the ends which give it good behaviour and handling on all types of snow, both forward and backward. Only the core and the side cuts vary from one model to another.

With a 96mm waist, the Prodigy 2 YTH are the most versatile skis in the range. Thanks to its poplar and beech core, it is lively, light and has a very good pop, essential for a backcountry freestyle use worthy of the name. With this, all you have to do is press a little on the slats to enjoy great energy return and thus make bigger and bigger jumps and bar crossings.

The XL edges, the ultra-solid rims and the micro-cap anti-chip coating guarantee a long life for the ski and performance that remains the same over time.

The Prodigy 2 YTH is a real versatile ski! In the air, it is well balanced and its tip and tail have a very playful character. Once you leave the groomed slopes, it finds itself at home in the powder. The middle ground dimensions allow you to have a lot of fun with a ski that has good float. Being less exclusive than the Candide 2 YTH, it will be more accessible to intermediate to advanced skiers, with a more fun DNA at a more affordable price.

The Prodigy 2 YTH is perfect for young freeriders with jumps that are bigger than their height, in other words, little daredevils who want a ski that performs as well as adults but at their size.

Shape
:

Directional Twin:
The tail is considerably thinner than the tip for increased performance. The twin tip makes them perfect for freestyle and riding in switch.

Construction:

Polyfly Core:
The Polyfly core is found in most junior models. Polyfly is an extremely lightweight foam core that reduces vibration, allowing young riders to ski effortlessly.

Side cuts with elliptic radii
The sidecuts with elliptic radii consist of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radius on the front and rear parts of the ski. The long radius underfoot allows for faster and easier pivoting, while the shorter radii allow turns to be started more gently. These sidecuts are perfectly suited to a wide range of turn angles and sizes.

XL 2.5 mm Edges
One might think that seven tenths of a millimetre doesn't have much of an effect, but when it comes to edges, everything matters. The 2.5 mm edges are 35% thicker than our standard 1.8 mm edges, which are already very sturdy. This addition of steel makes the ski more resistant to "aggressions" related to certain practices for longer.

Team review
