60 days to change your mindThe Mountain Twin Split is a splitboard from Jones, intended for for men of a confirmed level.
It's all in the name: Mountain for the the distance., Twin for the stunning shape and Split because it's your legs that will take you to the top! With the Mountain Twin Split, Jones offers an unusual shape in the world of touring snowboarding.
In fact, with its Directional Twin shape and CamRockcamber, the Mountain Twin Split offers safety capabilities for freestyle (backcountry of course). You will be able to ride in regular or switch mode, but not walking because the climb could be long!
With the Inside & Outside Traction Tech 3.0 corrigated edges, the number of edge/snow contact points are multiplied. This gives you an improved peripheral vision edge grip on both the outer and inner edges of your splitboard. These LuxLinerTM interior edges will be a clear advantage during the ascent phases, especially on frozen slopes.
The eco-designed Topsheet has a hydrophobic effect and prevents the snow from sticking to your skis. Ideal for not getting too heavy on the way up! And when it comes to powder, the Mountain Twin Split is like a fish in water and can be easily launched thanks to its to the two long rockers of the CamRock camber. In addition, the 3D Base Contour 2.0 edge curves the ends of the board to further improve lift and turn-in.
The Mountain Twin Split will delight all snowboarders who want the same riding sensations as with the Mountain Twin but for solo or group hikes!
The board is delivered as is, with a Karakoram Ultra Clip included.

- Camber: Camrock: classic camber with rocker for greater lift and grip in all snow conditions. Loooong nose and tip rockers for a huge increase in playfulness and handling. The Camrock significantly improves freestyle performance and powder lift. Certainly the best camber ever produced!
- Shape:
Directional Twin: symmetrical shape ideal for playability and figures. Allows for easy switch riding.
Blunt Nose: Curved nose to improve the glide and resistance the grip of the snow and therefore reduces the "ploughing" effect of the nose.
Inside & Outside Traction Tech 3.0: The serrated edges offer multiple contact points along the board. This technology counteracts the negative effect of the rocker which reduces the edge/snow contact length of your board.
Progressive Sidecut: At each end of the edges, the curve radius is increased at the contact points. This larger radius ensures a smoother ride when entering and exiting turns.

- Core:
FSC™ Control SplitCore: Double density wood core: poplar and paulownia. Lightweight, shock-absorbing design adapted to the specificities of splitboards.
- Topsheet:
Biax Fiberglass: double layer of fiberglass in both directions for a fun and forgiving board.
ECO-Plastic TopSheet: recycled plastic obtained from the Ricin plant. This eco-friendly material is ultra-light, scratch resistant and water resistant, designed to prevent snow from sticking to the topsheet.
- Sole:
Sintered 8000 base: base made from UHMW-PE (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and carbon. Very easy to repair and offers ultimate gliding properties.
Flip Flop Base: manufacturing process reducing waste related to the sole.
- Technologies:
Boltless Bridge Tech: the fastening system does not protrude from the side of the sole. Instead, the wooden core at the clip is reinforced to provide more rigidity and responsiveness
Oversized Recycled Edges: edges made of recycled steel.
Recycled Rounded ABS: ABS plastic in Jones boards is made from recycled plastic.
Wend Natural Wax: ready to use as soon as they leave the factory, Jones snowboards are already coated with Wend Natural Wax.
Factory tuned: Factory tuned: ready to go as soon as they leave the store. Jones boards can hit the slopes straight away!
Stainless Steel Reinforcement: stainless steel plate reinforcements in the nose and tail of the board to increase its durability.
Karakoram Ultra Clips 1.0: Jones splitboards have Karakoram clips as well as hooks on the nose and tail. The tension-adjustable K-bindings improve the torsional rigidity of the board. The Ultra clips are the strongest and thinnest in the world.
Quick Tension Tail: The Quick Tension clip is a lightweight attachment system unique to boards by Jones from 2016 onwards (except the Discovery). Jones splitboards have a notch in the tail of each board that allows the Quick Tension clip to pass through the notch and hold the skin. For 2018, the Quick Tension clip has been completely redesigned and now features a rubber tail strap and a compact metal clip.
Forever Flex: a new process that helps maintain the same level of flex throughout the life of the board
Avec un programme inhabituel de rando/freestyle, la Mountain Twin Split était attendue au tournant. Pourtant une fois dessus, elle se comporte étonnement très bien en montée et permet de s'amuser énormément en descente.
Le petit plus freestyle qu'elle apporte n'est pas négligeable et la rend unique en son genre. A vous les descentes backcountry en switch et les rotations sur les pillows de neige fraiche !
Basée sur la Mountain Twin, Jones ne s'est pas trompé dans les caractéristiques et assure un splitboard très joueur mais aussi et surtout efficace à la montée. Eh oui, on est chez Jones!
Les Plus : fun, maniable et accroche des carres ondulées.
Les Moins : manque de contact des rockers à la montée.
