Freetouring skis - Unisex -
The Locator 96 is a free-touring ski from Armada designed for backcountry skiing in powder, both up and down.
With a modern shape optimised for exceptional flotation in deep snow and a longer radius for high speeds, this model has a touring oriented construction. Indeed, its light weight combined with its wide waist of 96 mm makes it possible to send it on the descent while also offering good performance when climbing. The rear clip area keeps the skins central and secured.
The AR75 sandwich construction makes the ski lighter without compromising stiffness for good stability at high speed. A titanium plate has been added to the underside of the binding to reduce vibration and provide good cushioning. In addition, the Caruba core provides better climbing feel while retaining power for descents on difficult terrain.
The Locator 96 is aimed at demanding skiers looking for lightness on the way up and good lift and reactivity on the way down to get into every corner of the snowy slopes.

Construction:
Caruba core : Caruba is the lightest of the woods we use to make our cores. It offers the best climbing sensations, while retaining the power and vibration absorption needed to descend through the most challenging terrain. It makes no concessions in terms of performance, despite its quest for weight savings.
EST Freeride Rocker : The rocker on the front of the ski and the tapered shape of the tip combine perfectly to provide optimum flotation in powder. The positive camber under the foot without rocker in the heel ensures perfect edge hold, so you can stay firmly in place during sessions where carving is the priority.
Technologies:
Edges 1.7 Lightweight : Lightweight and resistant, these heat-treated edges have minimal impact on the feel of the snow, the dynamism and the lightness of the skis.
Comp Series sole : This sliced sole is optimised to offer maximum speed, resistance and wax retention.
Chants AR75 : The sidewalls cover 75% of the length of the ski to save weight in the tip and tail while maintaining optimum stiffness and power.
Titanium cushioning plate under fastener : Under the binding, we insert a layer of titanium sandwiched between two layers of rubber: this reduces the vibrations that are transmitted to your shoes and make you tired, and gives you a smoother feel.
Heel clip : Even greater ease in the backcountry thanks to this heel clip zone integrated into the ski to ensure your skin is always held securely and centred.
Carbon reinforcements : Carbon reinforcements provide incredible responsiveness.
