The Kuluar 9 Brake is a binding designed for ski tourers looking for lightness, power and robustness. This new product from ATK offers an optimal ratio between lightness and safety. It is impressive that the Italian brand can offer such a reliable and robust binding with a ski-stop weighing only 250 grams.

This Kuluar 9 Brake is designed for extreme skiing, hence the name "Kuluar", inspired by "Couloir" in French. There is a stop inspired by that of the Crest but with a brand new heel piece with a revolutionary design to save weight. Like all ATK bindings, it is designed and manufactured in Italy. You can count on quality materials including aluminium and stainless steel, which offers lightness and solidity.

The lateral release can be adjusted between 4 and 9and the travel is 20mm which makes this binding suitable for most people and most shoes. This binding has a fixed vertical release which is ideal in terms of safety for medium to lightweight skiers. In addition, the Kuluar 9 Brake incorporates the Elastic Response System, which allows for good skiing comfort, particularly in complicated snow. It does so by absorbing compressions, which brings it closer to a freetouring model!

Equipped with ski-stop at the front, this binding is safety-oriented because in case of a fall, whether it is during ascent or descent, the ski-stop will come to your rescue. This system has many other advantages, notably in the event of an avalanche, where you can easily detach from your skis, which prevents you from being injured by them, but also prevents them from dragging you down because the skis act as an anchor under the snow.
