These Ion all-mountain freeride boots are supported by their (8/10) stiff flex and their instant reactivity which makes them ideal for creating precise lines in the backcountry. The EST® midsole not only thins down the sole for a lighter weight but it also particularly improves board feel all while lowering your centre of gravity.
The featherlight Life liner with Total Comfort construction is extremely comfortable from the very first day on the slopes. Since comfort also requires a high level of heat retention, the Ion Boa® features Sleeping Bag thermal insulation and a DRYRIDE™ Heat Cycle™ lining to keep you nice and dry. Handy when you need to walk through the snow to get to the starting point you had planned out!

Flex - 8/10, aggressive flex.
- PowerUp tongue with 1:1 medium flex: thermoplastic reinforced tongue for the best possible response.
- Welded rear reinforcement: improves support and durability
Liner:
- Life Liner : feather weight liner which adapts to foot shape for a relaxed feel. The reactive PU tongue makes the liner supple and even more durable. Thermoformable liner:
- DRYRIDE Heat Cycle™: carbon fibre lining which is thermally activated to better capture body heat.
- Tuff Cuff : as used by professionals, supports the ankle and stabilises the inner liner. Flexibility across the length of the feet.
Cushioning:
ReBounce Cushioning: this is in the shell of the boot, close to your foot, and provides an extra layer of impact protection. The thermal insulation also traps heat. Consistent performance in cold temperatures.
- AutoCANT cushioning : features dual density EVA that allows your foot to settle into a more natural and relaxed position for increased comfort, reduced fatigue and more direct snowboard control
Lacing:
- Speed Zone® system: Quick lacing, customised and independent adjustment of the upper and lower zones of the shoe. Tight fit for maximum bounce. Works with New England laces. These are Burton exclusives and are guaranteed for life.
- New England Ropes: - New England Ropes use US-made fibres that are virtually indestructible, non-twisting, and easy to re-lace.
Comfort :
- Total Comfort Construction: Best possible feel from the very first use. The Total Comfort design leaves out the process of moulding the foot to the liner, and instead it directly adapts to your body and foot shape.
- Snow proof internal gusset: the lower zone of the boot is completely sealed off from the snow, keeping feet warm and dry all day.
- Isothermal Sleeping Bag technology: light, thin layer to insulate your foot.
Sole:
- Optimised EST® midsole: lowers your centre of gravity and improves snowboard feel without compromising comfort.
