Description

The Blade Optic 114 is a men's freeride ski from Line, designed for advanced to expert skiers looking for the deepest popfields.

The Blade Optic collection is made up of four models of freeride skis ranging from 92mm to 116mm in width. It is a true blend of the Line Vision and Blade skis. Overall, Line has taken the profile of the Visions skis (shape, form, rocker, flex, mounting point) and combined it with the laminated metal core construction of the Blade. Given the light weight of the Visionskis, the heavier Blade core is intended to make the Blade Optics considerably more stable at higher speeds than the Visions, while retaining the playful ride of the latter. These skis are powerful and very stable, but also very manoeuvrable, ideal for skiing anywhere at high speeds.

The Blade Optic 114 is the largest model in the range and has been designed to offer the best possible lift in incredibly deep snow. With its 114 mm runner, this wide ski is ideal for hurtling down steep couloirs at full speed or negotiating packed snow! Although their width makes them less versatile than the other models in the range, their wood core reinforced with a titanium plate still offers good edge hold with a lot of stability and control at high speeds. The radius of curvature is also much greater than on other models in the range, up to 24m in the 186cm size.

If you like skiing in deep powder, and are also looking for a little versatility, don't wait any longer to have fun with the Blade Optic 114!

Technologies:

Sidewall: Ultra-high-density polyethylene walls at the edges absorb vibration for maximum durability, giving a feeling of softness and stability.

Fatty™ Base & Edge : The construction and edges are 30% thicker, with a 1.7mm base, which greatly improves the durability and lifespan of the skis.

Aspen Veneer Core
: Light, agile poplar wood.

Thin Tip : The core has been lightened and the edges thinned out.

Overdrive: Vertically integrated titanium reinforcement throughout the skis, extending through the tip and tail designed to add stability, power and precision.

Early Rise : The rise of the tip and tail starts sooner as the skis' profile moves away from the centre, making turning easier and helping to keep the skis stable. It also means effortless float in softer snow!

Directional Flex : The more flexible tip allows for easy pivoting and float while the more rigid tail provides power, stability and control at high speed.

5-Cut : 5 different turn radiuses for a more intuitive and agile pair of skis.

Gas Pedal Metal™ : Titanal is placed on the skis to give better grip and torsional stability while remaining a responsive pair of skis. Titanal is also on the tip and tail to give better transmission of energy and power.

Team review
