With its Avabag airbag system aimed at reducing weight to a minimum, at just 1,860 grams (bag + airbag) and 2,170 grams all-inclusive (bag + airbag + cartridge), the Avabag Ascent 30 is a relatively light airbag. The Avabag system is compact and lightweight, and can be quickly disassembled if required. Its 100% ergonomic adjustable handle allows easy and quick activation of the airbag in all situations.
Another special feature of the Avabag system is the possibility of unlimited training for bag activation! With no cartridge in place, you can practice triggering as many times as you like to be prepared for its potential use. The very small trigger system is integrated inside the inflation unit and thus forms a robust, fully enclosed system.
In terms of capacity, theAscent 30 offers 30 litres of usable volume and three interior pockets that will give you plenty of storage space space for your outings over several days: safety equipment, hydration system, change of clothes, food... there's room for everything! With its many attachments, you can add a rope, your ice axe, skis and poles, but also easily attach a mattress or sleeping bag.
In order to limit its total weight (system and cartridge included), Ortovox uses ultra-light but resistant materials: Nylon 100D Robic Ripstop and Nylon 420D Oxford HD.
The Ascent Avabag isn't just light, it's also very comfortable: its padded 3D back panel distributes the load evenly between the waist strap and the lightly padded shoulder straps. Other features include a circular zip that guarantees quick access to the main compartment, a diagonal ski binding system, as well a separated inner for the ice safety equipment, ideal for the most demanding ski touring.
Please note that this backpack is fitted with the AVABAG Ortovox Unit system, but the trigger cartridge (gas bottle) is sold separately.
