Founded in 1888 in Morez, in the Jura, Julbo has always focused on one thing: uncompromising vision in the mountains. On the snow, a Julbo ski goggle does more than just complement a helmet: it delivers lasting comfort, a wide field of view, and optimal visibility even when the light changes. In the same spirit, Julbo sunglasses offer the same high standards of protection, while ski goggles let you explore the full world of mountain vision.

Julbo lens technologies: Reactiv and Spectron

The range is built around two main lens types:

  • Reactiv photochromic lenses automatically adapt to changing light, adjusting their tint as brightness increases, decreases, or becomes diffuse. Julbo offers this technology in High Contrast to enhance terrain definition, Light Amplifier for clarity in low light, and Glare Control (polarised) to reduce reflections.
  • Spectron lenses use a fixed tint, ideal when conditions are stable. UV protection levels range from 1 to 4; 1 is for very low light, 4 for bright sunshine.

Ventilation and anti-fog treatment

To maintain clear vision, Julbo combines integrated ventilation with anti-fog treatment. The frame design encourages airflow, while the inner coating helps prevent condensation, even during intense activity or worsening weather.

How to choose your Julbo goggle?

Choosing your lens for the light conditions

Reading the terrain is key: a Julbo photochromic goggle with Reactiv lens adapts to changing conditions (sunny, cloudy, flat light), while a fixed-tint Spectron lens is suited to regular use in more consistent light, with the right level of UV protection.

Helmet and prescription glasses compatibility

Designed to fit all helmets, Julbo ski goggles feature a wide strap for secure hold. For glasses wearers, some models are available in OTG (over the glasses) versions, with extra internal space and side openings for the arms, ensuring a natural fit on the face.

Which Julbo goggle for children?

Julbo also brings its expertise to younger skiers, with compact models, comfortable foam, and UV 400 protection, offering the same quality of vision as adult goggles.

Julbo ski goggles FAQ

What is the difference between a Reactiv and a Spectron lens?

Reactiv is photochromic: the tint changes with the light. Spectron keeps a fixed tint, with constant UV protection.

How do you care for your Julbo goggle?

Clean the outside with a microfibre cloth, let it air dry, then store the goggle in its pouch. Avoid rubbing the inside to preserve the treatment.

Are Julbo goggles suitable for freeride?

Yes, Julbo's mountain DNA is found in goggles designed for movement, with a wide field of view, secure fit, and ventilation suited to the demands of freeride.

How do you adjust the strap on your Julbo goggle?

Adjust using the side buckles: the goggle should sit snugly without excess pressure, and the strap helps keep it stable on the helmet. The key is a consistent fit and clear vision throughout the day.
