After studying industrial design, Cam Brensinger, an avid mountaineer, first worked at MIT on a NASA-funded Mars spacesuit project. In 2002, he founded NEMO Equipment, launching the first tent featuring the A.S.T. (AirSupported Technology™) concept, with a structure made of low-pressure inflatable poles. Resistant to strong winds, compact when packed, and quick to pitch, it quickly won over retailers, enthusiasts, and even the US Army Special Forces.
An expanded product range
After proving its innovation in tents with high-performance products full of ergonomic details, the NEMO Equipment design team turned to mattresses and sleeping bags. This led to a range of ultra-lightweight and compact self-inflating and inflatable mattresses from NEMO Equipment.
Innovation and design
NEMO Equipment, a specialist in outdoor gear, has already received numerous innovation and design awards. Each of its products-whether tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, or accessories-offers adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts the very best of NEMO Equipment technology and design.
Equipment for everyone
NEMO Equipment is dedicated to how we interact with our environment and adapt to all circumstances and weather conditions. Cam Brensinger says: “At NEMO Equipment, we believe everyone can have memorable adventures anywhere, whether in their own backyard or on top of Everest, as long as they have the will, imagination, and... the right gear.”
