The Abacá is a species of banana tree that feeds simply on rainwater and surrounding nutrients, and has fibres that are harvested every 3 to 8 months. MoEa will use this environmentally-friendly fibre to create a material similar to canvas cotton. This biomaterial represents a real breakthrough sustainable alternative to animal leather, emitting on average 71% less carbon.
